My name is Joanne Besser, I am the head Trainier and founder of Oomph!
I am passionate about providing tailored personal fitness training and nutritional advice to anyone who needs that extra bit of motivation or skilled direction to achieve better levels of wellbeing and fitness, look better and reach a health or sporting goal.
As a competitive athlete I also love to help people who are preparing for and active holiday such as skiing, surfing and climbing or training for a particular event from first 5k race, to competing in an endurance event such as a marathon or Ironman triathlon.
I provide one-to-one personal training and sports massage to people in Potters Bar and the surrounding areas, as well as throughout London, Hertfordshire and Essex. As a mobile company I can come to you so you can enjoy exercising in the comfort of your own home, at your local park or at the office, freeing up more time for you to enjoy the finer things in life. If however you prefer working out in an exclusive gym environment, I also train clients and provide massage therapy at The Great Eastern Hotel in Liverpool Street, London with Personal Best Training.
Whether you are new to exercise and want to start a safe and effective exercise regime, or are aiming for a personal best in your next race, Oomph! can help.
Coaching Experience:
After years of keeping myself fit and helping friends to achieve their health, fitness and weight loss goals I decided that I no-longer wanted to just enjoy sport as a hobby, but to make a career and lifestyle out of it. I initially trained with Premier, the UK's leading health and fitness training provider where I leared about different techniques, detailed nutritional requirements and the benefits of applying deep tissue and sports massage as both a relaxation tool and to aid athletic performance and injury recovery.
As an accomplished triathlete I understand the specific requirements that face amature athletes and professionals who try to fit exercise around their busy routines. I regularly participate in races and when I was working as an executive in the city used to fit up to 12 hours of training a week around my work and travel needs. I am currently training to compete in the Sherbourne Ironman race in August which consists of a 2.4 mile lake swim, 112 mile cycle and finishes with a marathon.
Having fun while achieving your goals is my main philosophy. Programmes need to be effective to help you reach each new step, but if you enjoy every session, you are more likely to stick to the programme long term and become a fitter, healthier, happier... you!
I am fully insured and can be found on the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs).
