Andy McAvoy has been living and teaching karate in Northern Ireland since 1980. He is chairman of the Northern Ireland Traditional Karate Federation, whose chief instructor is Masao Kawasoe. Andy has helped many students over the years coaching, training and encouraging them to achieve their potential. Andy was also a Business Studies Lecturer in Further Education
Coaching Experience:
Andy has taught a wide range of karate students, from 6 to 60+ years old and from novice to 4th dan. He first opened the Shotokan Karate Club in Bangor N.Ireland in Sept 1980. Andy has coached students for competition at National, UK and European level.
Qualifications:
Andy initially qualifind as a coach under NIMAC
Subsequently coach qualified with NIKB & UKTKF
Andy is qualified as a Judge/Referee
And is a recognised Coach Tutor for NIIC
